Heart Song programs include sharing our stories, family focused activities, peer support, and coping mechanisms for identifying, honoring, and managing the emotions associated with grief. Participation is open to all families grieving the death of a loved one, regardless of the cause of death or whether the person was served by hospice. The program is free of charge and serves children ages 5 to 18 and their parents, guardians, or extended families.
State statistics indicate that there are over 1,000 children and teens under the age of nineteen actively grieving the loss of a loved one in Prescott, Prescott Valley, Dewey/Humbolt, & Chino Valley, AZ on any given day of the year.
The Heart Song Center for Grieving Children is the only grief support group in Yavapai County that focuses on children.
